Saurabh Saran is an insurance professional with over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry in India and Middle East. He joined Islamic Arab Insurance Company (SALAMA) in May 2016 as General Manager – General Takaful & Health Takaful. His leads and manages Business growth and Distribution channel management, Underwriting Management, Claims Management, Reinsurance, Customer Services and Finance Management.
Prior to joining SALAMA, Saurabh worked for Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC ) from June 2009 and was Chief Operating Officer of the company since April 2012. His responsibilities at ADNIC included managing Commercial & Consumer Lines Claims, Customer Services & Contact Center, Business Operations, Information Technology, Risk Engineering Services, Administration, and Facilities Management Services. He was a core member of Risk Management Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Innovation & Technical Committee.
Before joining ADNIC, Saurabh worked as Head of Business Operations & Systems for Middle East Region at American International Group (AIG). His core responsibilities included managing regional business operations, multinational accounts management and Information Technology.
From 1998 till June 2006, he worked as Senior Manager- Audit & Quality at Oman Insurance Company, Dubai. There he established & lead the Internal Audit & Business Excellence function.
Before relocating to UAE, Saurabh worked for The Oriental Insurance Company in India for 13 years in various management roles at different locations leading the Business growth & expansion, Underwriting & Claims management for corporate & retail customers including managing the insurance program of the biggest steel plant in Asia.
Saurabh is a speaker on Six Sigma, Bancassurance, Quality & Customer Services at several conferences and seminars.
Saurabh Saran holds an MBA, is a Fellow of The Insurance Institute of India, a Dip CII from Chartered Insurance Institute, UK and he is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt.
